01
Vera Kolt, blackwork artist at Sable

Vera Kolt

Blackwork

Heavy black, clean geometry, and ornamental work that reads across a room. Vera plans pieces to the body, not the swatch, and likes projects that take more than one sitting.

02
Abel Marsh, traditional artist at Sable

Abel Marsh

Traditional

American traditional the way the flash wall taught it: bold lines, limited palette, no fuss. Nineteen years in, and it shows in the healed photos, where it counts.

03
Noa Brandt, fine-line artist at Sable

Noa Brandt

Fine line

Single-needle botanicals, script, and small pieces with an engraver's patience. Noa works slow and small on purpose, and books one month at a time to keep it that way.

How booking works, honestly.

01

The inquiry

Write to bookings@sable.example with placement, rough size, and reference images. Name your artist, or describe the piece and we will route it.

02

The consult

Fifteen minutes at the shop, or over email for simple pieces. We talk placement, scale, and whether the idea wants to be a tattoo. If we are not the right studio, we will say so.

03

The deposit

A $100 deposit holds your date and comes off the final price. No date is held without one. Full policy below, in plain language.

04

The appointment

Eat a real meal, wear clothing that clears the placement, bring photo ID. Plan for the quoted session plus half an hour, and nothing else that day if you can help it.

The policy, plainly

Deposits are $100, come off the final price, and are not refundable. Move your date with 48 hours notice and the deposit follows you, once. Less notice, or a no-show, and it is gone. That keeps the calendar honest for everyone.

Flash

Pre-drawn pieces from the wall and the artists' books, tattooed at the scale drawn. Most flash here is one of one: once claimed, retired. Priced as marked, $120 to $300, usually at the first opening. The fastest way to get tattooed at Sable.

Custom

Drawn for you from your references and the consult, quoted by the piece or at $180 an hour. You see the drawing at your appointment; small changes are welcome, big ones book a second consult. Large work is planned across sittings from the start.

The standard. Hold us to it.

i.Sterilization

Surfaces are barrier-wrapped and broken down between clients. What cannot be wrapped is scrubbed and autoclaved, and the autoclave is spore-tested monthly.

ii.Single-use

Needles, cartridges, ink caps, razors, and gloves are opened sealed in front of you and discarded the same way. Nothing returns to the tray.

iii.Licensed

The studio and all three residents hold current Old Harbor County health licenses. Certificates hang at the desk; inspectors are welcome without notice.

iv.Touch-ups

One touch-up on our work is free within six months, healed per our aftercare. Sun and wear after that are honest work at an honest rate.

Asked every week.

Q.Does it hurt?

Yes. Less than you fear, more than the friend who said it was nothing. Ribs, sternum, feet, and inner arm run hot; outer arm, calf, and thigh are kind. We pace long sessions with breaks.

Q.How should I prepare?

Sleep, eat a real meal, and hydrate for two days before. Skip alcohol for 24 hours and do not sunburn the placement. Moisturized, intact skin takes ink best.

Q.How do I look after it?

You leave wrapped, with printed instructions: unscented soap, a thin layer of the ointment we recommend, no pools, gyms, or sun for two weeks. When in doubt, email us before you ask the internet.

Q.Do you do cover-ups?

Vera and Abel take them, case by case. Send clear photos of the existing piece with your inquiry. Some work wants laser lightening first, and we will say so.
